Irish ‘Save a Horse’ app wins second prize at Best App Ever Awards in San Francisco

Save a Horse app in aid of Irish Horse Welfare Trust by Grey Horse AppsTipperary equestrian app company Grey Horse Apps has won second prize in the ‘Best Doing Good’ App category at the 2011 ‘Best App Ever’ Awards in San Francisco.

The ‘Save a horse’ app was created by Grey Horse Apps to support the work of Ireland’s horse charity Irish Horse Welfare Trust.

More than 7,240 apps were nominated for the 2011 Best App Ever Awards and more than 1.5m votes have been cast globally.

“We absolutely thrilled with the award,” says Elaine Heney from Grey Horse Apps.

“We are hugely supportive of the work the Irish Horse Welfare Trust do. We feel very honoured to be able to support them and raise awareness of horse welfare in Ireland.”

The ‘Save a horse’ app for iPhone and Android can be downloaded for free here 

The app contains 17 topics including information about Ireland’s only dedicated equine charity, videos, volunteering opportunities and fundraising; as well as useful information for horse owners, from nutrition tips to dental care.
