Destination shopping and activity centre Rathwood, located in the Wicklow/Carlow/Wexford border, is looking for 300 ‘Santas’ to take part in its Santa Run on Sunday 13th November at 11am.

The 3km Santa run is being organised by Rathwood staff and local man Tony Donogue, to raise funds for National Rehab Hospital and Suzanne O’Neill Fund. All levels of fitness and ages are welcome.

“We hope to get about 300 Santas together on the day. They can walk, run or jog and the distance is only 3km. The plan is to make it a family event and raise funds for the National Rehab Hospital and Suzanne O’Neill Fund,” explains James Keogh, director at Rathwood.

“Several local people known to us have been receiving treatment at the National Rehab Hospital, including Terry Kirwan who has featured on RTE’s The Road to Rehab. In addition, Suzanne, who had an accident this summer and is currently being treated there, spent her school work experience at Rathwood earlier in the year. So it is a cause very close to the hearts of all the staff at Rathwood.”

Adult participants will pay a €20 fee to receive their Santa outfits, while children can enter the fun run for €5 and receive a Santa hat.

Entry forms are available from Rathwood http://www.rathwood.com/SantaRun.html .

For further information, Tony Donoghue 059 8624167 or Rathwood Staff on 059 9156285

Adults: €20 – Includes a Santa Suit to wear on the day and bring home

Children:  €5 – Includes a Santa hat to wear and keep

Please hand in entry form and fee to Rathwood by Wednesday 9th November.

Entries on the day €25

Special Medals for all paid participants who finish in their Santa suit or Santa hat
