Stephen Quinn and Colm BuckleyThe People Group, one of the largest sales and marketing recruitment companies in Ireland, has today gone live with a mobile version of its site – a dot mobi.

Managing director Colm Buckley believes this is the first time a recruitment company has taken the plunge. “We have invested heavily in our online strategy,” he explains. “It is important for our clients and candidates that we can provide and share information online in an easy fashion. And as some 600,000 people access the web using mobile devices, it is not a question that a mobile site, or a dot Mobi, is nice to have but rather can a business afford not to have one.”

The People Group is 22 years in business and while the downturn has impacted on its bottom line, its approach to understanding client needs means it has kept its edge and moreover turnover. The People Group pride themselves on fully understanding their clients with the result that only suitable candidates are sent over. “We don’t like to waste client time, candidate time nor indeed ours,” says Buckley. “Investing in getting it right first time makes it easier for everyone.”

he People Group has put its money where its mouth is with more than €30,000 invested in digital and web infrastructure. Working with Evolution-E, they have streamlined all touch points with clients and customers.

Stephen Quinn, managing director of Evolution-E, the mobile web design company chosen to deliver the mobile site, says migration to .mobi for business is essential.  “Approximately 10 to 15% of all web traffic is now coming from mobile devices. If your site is not mobile, then you will lose possible customers who will not have the patience to sort through the unwieldy website to Smart Phone experience.”
